Gaggia Handlever 1G from the 80s

It's been a while with a Gaggia

Here's one from the 80s if I'm not mistaken.

the first look is nice.

disassemble first!
Surprises are sure to come

I'll leave the Gaggia true to the original,
no extra stuff ...

really nice device feet,
polish a bit, then they look good

As is so often the case,
the Gaggia BG are quite difficult to maintain ...

Everything was in the best condition here!
In any case, seals and springs cannot be used.
Ball bearings and the bolt are like new :-)

I can slowly build up the Gaggia ...
The original pressostat was re-sealed and cleaned.

The safety valve has received a small collecting tray ...

She can be seen.

Typical transition to the 80s.

The side parts were repainted and the back wall.
in classic red.

The only upgrades she got:
Safety valve..New wiring ... and a control light.
a drill hole was available :-)

I put the step circuit back in its original state!

The machine has two heaters!
one with 400 watts and one with 900 watts.
Pos. 1: machine works with 900 W.
Pos. 2: Machine works with 400 W.
Pos. 3: 0
Pos. 4: Both heaters run at the same time.

That's cool ... so you can switch the Gaggia to economy mode ..
what a cool thing that is over 40 years old ...

Faemina via casella First serie the Red one Vintage Pur

Faemina first serie
from
Via Casella

whit the no.2182

Hand lever espresso machine Vintage Pur

one of the most beautiful machines from the home of Faema.
in this condition and still such a model ....
just great .

she is very well preserved.
a gasket change and rewire would have been enough.
but no!
Let the machine chrome for the most part

                                                      then it starts

which is hard to remove the body

a care program for the small parts

In any case, the faemina will get a new feather

I decided to partially chrome-plate the faemina again,

so there is no way around disassembling them

and now she looks as new!

the chromer does a wonderful job

the base was very difficult to disassemble
the pin bolts for the connection are conical,

but it is disassembled!

the body just looks awesome! completely new chrome ...

what should I write, look at it yourself

I wanted to polish the bottom cover,
but decided to chrome it ...
as the base is a difficult matter since both materials are made of aluminum.

a Faemina in individual parts

After many looking for and testing springs,
I ordered a few from Cafelat Store.
Very good springs, but I missed a bit more pressure!

so I decided to make a feather made to measure

to be honest the first three attempts were wrong

Now i have it!

Original the spring has 8 turns,
which I have 9 turns with 90mm length and

has a maximum force of Fn 1450n.

so if you need one get in touch :-)

I think I'll leave a manometer on!
still looking for a little chromed one.

first test run was perfect.
I set the valve to 0.5 bar.
this area is perfect for the faemina.
